EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an empirically validated treatment approach with a range of client issues (particularly trauma related). It incorporates somatic, emotional, cognitive and narrative elements, and facilitates accelerated change of client dysfunctional patterns.

Dates of Basic Training:

Boulder, Colorado:
• Level I -- March 6 - 8, 2009
• Level II -- June 5 -7, 2009

Santa Fe, New Mexico:
• Level I -- March 20 - 22, 2009
• Level II -- June 19 - 21, 2009


Level I Training covers the development of EMDR, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, the 8 Phase EMDR treatment approach, the 11 step standard EMDR protocol, and Resource Development and Installation (RDI).

Level II Training follows about 3-4 months later, after clinicians have used EMDR and received consultation from an EMDRIA-approved consultant. Level II training reviews the 8 phase EMDR treatment approach and RDI. Then more complex issues with EMDR are covered: Developmental Approach, Complex PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Addictions, Chronic Pain/Illness, and Children & Adolescents. Tools for strengthening Affect Tolerance, Ego Strength and Somatic Awareness are also covered.

The trainings include lecture, discussion, experiential exercises, demonstration of an EMDR session, and small group practice. The entire Basic Training (Level I & II) includes 20 hours of instruction and 20 hours of practicum. EMDR Basic Training is not complete until after Level II and 10 hours of consultation, at which point a certificate of completion is given to participants.

Fees:
$900 total for Basic Training ($450 per Level)
$300 deposit to register for Basic Training ($150 for each Level)
$300 additional due at each Level
(Note: Fees for 10 hours of EMDRIA-approved consultation are in addition to these Basic Training fees)

In order to participate in EMDR training you must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional or working toward licensure and supervised by a Licensed Clinician.
