Julie Greene has a wide-ranging background which she brings to her life and work.
Julie is a psychotherapist and was in Private Practice from 1998-2008 working with individual adults around habitual life patterns which are causing difficulty -- including issues of relationship, depression, anxiety, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and chronic illness. Her interpersonal style is based on creating an open, safe space for clients’ inner exploration and growth. She trained at Naropa University from 1995-98, receiving an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Her counseling experience, in addition to private practice, includes work at a Psychiatric Hospital, and with the University of Colorado Multicultural Counseling Center. Due to training and consultation commitments Julie is currently not seeing clients in private practice.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist she was a Mechanical Engineer (University of Western Ontario, 1979) and worked in the petrochemical industry in Alberta. She then completed an MBA at Harvard (1983) and worked in the health care industry as a Quality Assurance Manager and Consultant.
Julie has been a teacher since 1985, initially with business management topics. She was a facilitator at Challenge Ropes Courses from 1994-97, and developed a more experiential style of teaching. From 1998-2007, she was Adjunct Faculty at Naropa University in the MA Psychology programs.
Meditation in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche is at the center of Julie's life. She is a senior student of Reggie Ray, and was on the Board of Directors of the Dharma Ocean Foundation from 2006-2009. She lives in Crestone, Colorado in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. |
